Anna Hanks is a New York City based actor, model, and dancer. Growing up in South Florida, Anna began her stage career at the age of four training in jazz, contemporary and ballet with her instructor and mentor, Andrew Currie. In addition to drama and dance competitions, she also worked as a choreographer and teacher at Currie's studio. Anna also studied acting during multiple summers in LA at the Lee Strasberg Film Institute, Stella Adler Studio, the Playground LA with Gary Spatz and the Sterling studio with Constance Tillotson.
After graduating high school, Anna moved to LA to continue her studies in pursuit of an acting career. Upon arrival, Anna was accepted into the acting conservatory program at the Joanne Baron-D.W. Brown Studio, with focus on the Meisner Technique. She gained a solid foundation for a future in film by training in both the Meisner and Alexander techniques, as well as voice classes. She also continued her training in dance, taking classes taught by some of LA's dance legends such as Michael Owens, Claude Thompson, and Joan Bayley.
It is her unique and diverse background in the performing arts that gives Anna the ability to captivate her audience in film, on stage and in photographs. Anna is currently working between New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami modeling for print and runway, as well as shooting commercials. Anna signed with Wilhelmina Models in early 2014, and has worked on a variety of jobs for clients such as Nike, Target, Reebok, Barney's New York, The Sak, La Perla, Giorgio Armani, AZ Araujo, La Martina, Rosa Clara, Pain de Sucre and Victoria's Secret. Notably, in 2013, Anna was featured as a yoga instructor in a national McDonald's Commercial. Anna has been featured in Shape Magazine, Men's Fitness, Running Magazine, and several other National publications.
Anna continues to study acting, dance, fitness and yoga, while pursuing an education in health and nutrition. In early 2013, she became a certified Holistic Health Coach. Currently, Anna is coaching models in NYC to help them to create healthy diet and lifestyle choices.
